Parents, staff and Woldingham Wine Club members enjoyed a relaxed and informative evening at our Wine Tasting event in the Stephens Room on Thursday 9th October. 

Our guest wine expert for the evening was Pierre from Top Selection, one of the country's most admired family-owned independent importers and distributors of premium wines and spirits in the UK.

With a selection of three white wines and three red wines to taste, including some from lesser known regions such as Tokaj and Juznoslovenska, we were guided on style, wine making techniques and characteristics of the wines, along with perfect food pairings.

Following plenty of discussion throughout the evening, we finished with a final vote on our favourite white wine and favourite red wine.  The winning white, by an overwhelming majority, was a Sauvingon Blanc and Semillon blend from Western Australia, whilst the clear majority red was a Syrah, Merlot and Grenache blend from the Languedoc region.

It was a wonderful evening and we look forward to coming together again for the next Woldingham Wine Club event.
